Reuse, Recycle, and Reduction of Waste
Samek & Rotbert, LLC has implemented policies and procedures, such as the following, to “Reuse, Recycle and Reduce Waste” for the benefit of our natural environment:
- use products with longer life, such as low energy life bulbs

use energy savings measures such as timers and sensors

use re-usable items rather than disposable items (glasses, silverware, cups, mugs, etc.)

implement a policy for e-purchasing so as to:

reduce paper waste,
- obtain more appropriate products, and
- reduce impact of repetitious travel to and from retail sites
- acquire refurbished furniture rather than new
- recycle batteries, APS, computer equipment, and similar equipment
- encourage communications by email, instant messages or electronic stickies so as to:
- reduce paper and ink from printouts, and
- reduce need for ”snail mail,” overnight mail or messenger services to reduce energy costs
- reduce paper and ink from printouts by:
- encouraging on-screen edits of documents rather than print out of drafts
- using desktop fax modems rather than plain paper fax machines
- scanning rather than copying documents
- printing double sided documents wherever possible
- recycle paper, cardboard boxes, containers, toner cartridges and other materials
- perform preventive maintenance on our copiers and printers to ensure reduced paper jams, toner conservation and operational efficiency
- route rather than reprint internal communications such as Memos, Newsletters and other materials
- permit telecommuting and home-working when not disruptive to our client work effort
- encourage “green travel” by using technologies—-more below
